Onion Soup

Serves 4

Description

Sweet-spicy flavor. Rich in flavonoids and vitamin C - could be prescribed by a doctor for a cold :-)

Ingredients

1,5 kg white onions
1 small bunch of thyme,
3 tablespoon of butter
150 ml of brandy
1tablespoon of brown sugar
1 teaspoon of salt
1 teaspoon of pepper
Optional: 1 teaspoon of five chinese spice

Instructions

1. Cut the onions in 1 cm pieces
2. Melt the butter in deep pot
3. Bind a bunch of thyme and toss melted butter
4. After 1-2 minutes, add chopped onions
5. Fry in butter until onions become golden brown.
6. Add about 2 liters of water and cook onion As long as you do not do soft
7. At the end of cooking add the brandy and spices. Cook for another 5-10 minutes.

Notes

Addition to the traditional onion soup are cheese toast. Because cheese is a high level of saturated fat I add plain toasted bread.
