1/2 cup All Purpose Flour 1/4 teaspoon salt 2 eggs 1 cup Nutella (just use the whole medium bottle) 1/2 cup brown sugar 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 1/2 cup melted butter (cool slightly)
Instructions
1. With the rack in the middle position, preheat the oven to 170 degrees C (325 F). 2. Melt butter in saucepan over medium heat till no more blobs of butter left in saucepan. Remove from heat and set a side 3. Line the bottom of a 20-cm (8-inch) square cake pan with parchment paper, letting the paper extend over two opposite sides. Butter the two other sides. 4. In a bowl, combine the flour and salt. Set aside. 5. In another bowl, beat the eggs, Nutella, brown sugar and vanilla extract with a spoon till smooth. (if you like, you can use an electric mixer but I find it a hassle) 6. Add the flour mixture, alternating with the melted butter till both flour and butter have been incorporated into Nutella mixture. 7. Scrape the batter into the cake pan. Bake until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few crumbs attached (not completely clean), 35 to 40 minutes 8. Cool in the pan for about 2 hours. Unmould and cut into squares. Serve warm or at room temperature.

All Purpose is just plain flour. Self raising is with baking powder. So all you need is plain flour. : )

Hi Judith,
I am sure it is Self Raising Flour otherwise you would have to add baking powder into the mixture so the cake will rise.
Christine do you know if 'All purpose flour' is an American term for self raising flour?
Happy baking :)

What a great recipe with Nutella! You could even serve it with custard or ice cream :)
