4 eggs 1 teaspoon sugar 1 teaspoon salt 1 cup milk 10 slices white bread butter maple syrup or other syrup
Instructions
1. Crack eggs into a wide, shallow bowl and beat lightly. 2. Stir in salt, sugar and milk. 3. Over medium to low heat, heat a thin layer of butter or margarine in a pan. 4. Dip the bread into the bowl one slice at a time, so that the slices soak up the egg mixture (a few seconds). Turn the bread pieces over so that both sides are coated with egg mixture. Only soak and coat as many slices as you will be cooking at a time. 5. Place bread pieces inside heated pan, cooking until the bottom of the bread is golden brown. Turn the bread over and brown the other side. 6. Repeat until all slices are cooked. Serve with maple or other syrup.
